Professional Development

Practical learning opportunities designed to support competent, ethical, and resilient counselors.

The Indiana Counseling Association is committed to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality professional development opportunities for counselors at every stage of their careers. Our offerings are designed to strengthen professional identity, enhance clinical competence, and support ethical, culturally responsive practice across Indiana.

Professional development opportunities are available to licensed counselors, counselor educators, supervisors, graduate students, and other mental health professionals.

Continuing Education Opportunities

INCA offers a variety of continuing education formats throughout the year, including:

  • Live webinars

  • Pre-recorded (home study) webinars

  • Workshops and seminars

  • Annual Conference programming

Many programs are offered at no cost or reduced cost to INCA members, with select free offerings each year.

Indiana Counseling Association is approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2015.

Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.

Webinars

Webinars are a central component of INCA’s professional development programming and are offered throughout the year on topics relevant to counseling practice, ethics, supervision, multicultural competence, advocacy, and professional growth.

Each webinar listing includes information regarding:

  • Continuing education credit

  • Cost (member vs. non-member pricing)

  • Learning objectives

  • Attendance requirements

Workshops and Seminars

ICA periodically hosts in-depth workshops and seminars, including exam preparation programs and specialty training sessions. These events may be offered virtually or in person and often include extended instructional time and supplemental materials.

Annual Conference

The INCA Annual Conference is the Association’s largest professional development event, featuring:

  • Multiple continuing education sessions

  • Keynote speakers

  • Awards and recognition

  • Networking opportunities

Conference programming is designed to reflect emerging trends, ethical standards, and innovative practices in counseling.

Emerging Leaders Program

The Emerging Leaders Program is a professional development initiative designed for counseling graduate students and new professionals seeking mentorship, leadership experience, and professional engagement.

Presenting with INCA

ICA welcomes presentation proposals from independently licensed mental health professionals, including LMHCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and other qualified presenters.

Presentation opportunities may include:

  • Live webinars

  • Conference sessions

  • Workshops or seminars
